Our Mission

DevTools was built with a simple mission: provide fast, reliable, and privacy-respecting tools for developers and designers — completely free, with no sign-up required.

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. This means your data never leaves your device. We don't log your inputs, store your hashes, or transmit your passwords anywhere.

What We Build

We focus on tools that developers and designers reach for every day:

• Encoders & Decoders — Base64, URL encoding, HTML entities, JWT decoding, MD5 hashing
• Generators — Cryptographically secure passwords, UUIDs, Lorem Ipsum placeholder text, SHA hashes, color palettes
• More tools are added regularly based on what developers need most

Why Client-Side Only?

Many online tools send your input to a server for processing. This is a privacy concern when your input contains sensitive data like tokens, passwords, or proprietary code. We solve this by processing everything locally:

• Password generation uses crypto.getRandomValues() — the browser's CSPRNG
• SHA hashing uses the crypto.subtle.digest() Web Crypto API
• Base64 encoding uses the browser's built-in btoa() / atob()
• MD5 is computed with a pure JavaScript implementation

You get security and speed — no round-trip to a server required.

Advertising

DevTools is free to use and always will be. To support hosting and development costs, we display non-intrusive advertisements via Google AdSense. Ads are only loaded after you give cookie consent. We follow Google's advertising policies strictly.
